Factores asociados al estrés percibido elevado en estudiantes universitarios de Acre durante la pandemia de COVID-19

Resumen

Objetivo: Analizar los factores asociados con un alto estrés percibido en estudiantes universitarios del Acre durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Metodología: El estudio tuvo un diseño transversal, con recolección de datos sobre el estrés percibido entre estudiantes universitarios, de septiembre de 2020 a marzo de 2021, y datos sobre variables demográficas, socioeconómicas, académicas, de salud y de estilo de vida. Se utilizó la versión brasileña de la escala de estrés percibido de 10 ítems, considerando como resultado el estrés elevado, definido como el tercil superior de la escala de estrés percibido. Resultados y discusiones: Se estudiaron 699 estudiantes universitarios, la mayoría con edades entre 20 y 29 años. El estrés percibido alto fue reportado por el 32,5% de los estudiantes; las variables asociadas con este resultado fueron la autoevaluación negativa y regular del estado de salud durante la pandemia; tener entre 17 y 19 años o de 20 a 29 años y ser mujer, haber cambiado de domicilio y haber experimentado una disminución de ingresos durante la pandemia. Conclusiones: La reanudación de las actividades presenciales debe considerar acciones de apoyo a la salud mental de los universitarios para la planificación de intervenciones futuras.
