Childhood is a phase of important changes and developments - motor, emotional, cognitive and social - that will influence the formation and consolidation of the child's habits. In this sense, it is reflected the importance of promoting, in early childhood education, pedagogical practices taking food and nutrition as an object of learning. But how to teach it? In order to discuss the pedagogization of healthy eating practices with schoolchildren, this report presents experiences of undergraduate students of the Nutrition Course at the Center for Early Childhood Education at a Federal Application College. The theoretical framework is based on Paulo Freire for a dialogue with the fields of Early Childhood Education and Food and Nutrition Education. The path taken is a process built and shared by all involved, culminating in the planning of contextualized and significant educational actions aimed at autonomy. It is expected that further studies and reports will contribute to the issue of how to teach food and nutrition with early childhood education.
