The internship is an indispensable curricular component for teacher education because it allows the construction of professional identity, in addition to enabling the investigation of reality and pedagogical praxis. Therefore, the objective of this study was to present the treatment of the gymnastics content during the supervised internship in early childhood physical education. This is a descriptive study, arising from the experience report of the curricular component Supervised Internship I, of the Physical Education Undergraduate course, of the Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia (UESB), in a kindergarten class, the class was composed of five children aged three and four years old. The internship was divided into three stages: observation, co-participation, and regency. The content approached during the regencies was gymnastics, because it allows the students to experience a variety of sensations and movements. The main methodology used during the classes was the singing games, which made the classes more dynamic and attractive, besides working with basic gymnastic elements, such as jumps, supports, spins, balance, and also sociability. Thus, we demonstrated the importance of a practice based on studies, which does not take into consideration only the analytical movement, but a practice that allows children to play, socialize, explore their own limits, and express themselves.
