This work deals with the importance of including women in history teaching. It seeks to highlight the role of the “women of the rubble” after the Second World War, using photography as a source and image analysis as a proposal for a historiographical language for the construction of knowledge through images, within the contents most commonly worked on in school settings. Some of the theoretical contributions are: Jörn Rüsen (2007), with the concepts of historical consciousness and historical culture in relation to the teaching of History; François Hartog (2013), regarding the relationship between past, present and future for the construction of historical knowledge; and Ana Maria Mauad (2008) and Johanna Smit (1996), with their theoretical and methodological contributions to images as historical documents.
