This article aims to analyze the trajectory of political ativism of Maria Yvone Loureiro, born in Viçosa-AL, in November 1947 who, after moving to Recife-PE in the 1960s, became part of the student moviment and later joined the Brazilian Revolutionary Comunist Party (PCBR), acting in the resistance against to the civil-military dictatorship. Arrested in February 197,1 she began denoucing the murder under torture of Odijas Carvalho, her fellow activist and husband. In this way, we aim to analyze how how this political activist used the role traditionally assigned to women, specifically that of wife, to denounce the torture carried out by the repressive agencies. To this end, the notion of gender games, a concept developed by the historian Luc Capedevilla and discussed in Brazil by Ana Rita Fonteles (2009), Cristina Scheibe Wolff (2015), among others, help us in this analysis. Methodologically we operationalize our analysis starting by the discourse produced by the repression angencies and its intelligence about the militant, in her individual file, as well as the testemonies and manifestos produced by the resistence, having Yvone as central figure in the denunciations.
