Judicial mesh of Portuguese colonization in America, which spread more emphatically from the second half of the seventeenth century, has undergone various interventions and settings according to the locations where they were instituted. In "North’s Captaincies" were circumstances in which certain locations without the Captaincy status had a justice of jurisdiction if the District of Alagoas; on the other hand, locations Captaincy conditions could not have a Comarca design if the Captaincy of Rio Grande. This article discusses the conflicts of jurisdictions and administrative problems arising from that specific in the Captaincy of Rio Grande (north) between 1789-1821.
