This article intends think about the house in poems from the book Maria, by the Mozambican poet José Craveirinha. The analysis, based on a Freudian psychoanalytical bias, establishes this space as a place that materializes mourning after the loss of a beloved person. From a critical dialogue, which unites psychoanalysis, Michel Collot's idea of landscape and Gaston Bachelard's analysis of the house, we discuss here the relationship conceived between man and space through the composition of a literary space that concretizes the mourning.
