The present work seeks to analyze the high school student newspaper Novo Tempo, produced between 1981 and 1984 by students at Escola Estadual Professor Abel Freire Coelho in the city of Mossoró/RN. This research, still in progress, aims to analyze the newspaper Novo Tempo as a space for resistance and denunciation. Specifically, since newspapers are one of the main means of communication and circulation of information, the aim is to understand the main subjects covered and how it constituted a means of student communication inserted in the city of Mossoró. To this end, we will use Luca's reflections (2006) to problematize the source, understanding it as a periodical with a specific social place and with a very characteristic social function.
