This article aims to articulate four concepts developed in the work of the so-called Bakhtin Circle: discursive interaction, concrete utterance, ideological sign, and dialogism. We sought to map their common features and clarify their genesis in order to facilitate the understanding of language as a whole, as it is on it that the formulations of the so-called Circle are based. Not attempting to be an exhaustive and conclusive approach to each concept, this study adopted a didactic approach so as to encourage readers to dialogue with the works of the Russian thinkers and further their studies.
