Considering the theme of argumentation in educational contexts, this article proposes two tools to facilitate the planning of argumentative essays. Grounded in the procedural perspective on writing (Hayes & Flower, 1980), this approach diverges somewhat from the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), which is based on enunciative-discursive foundations. Developed as part of a broader project to establish cognitive processing labs in basic education institutions, this article represents the first in a series of didactic tools designed for application in educational settings. This is a theoretical and descriptive study, presenting the tools and offering reflections on writing instruction.
