LIBERALISMO VERSUS POLÍTICA: ANÁLISE DA PREVALÊNCIA MODERNA DO ECONÔMICO EM MICHEL FOUCAULT E HANNAH ARENDT

Nesse artigo serão examinadas as implicações mútuas
entre a centralidade da vida biológica na compreensão moderna da
política e a progressiva imbricação entre economia e política. Para
tanto, investigaremos preliminarmente a paradoxal relação entre
liberalismo e declínio da política compreendida como espaço da
liberdade, assumindo como ponto de partida o estreito vínculo entre
ação e liberdade, na obra de Arendt, em contraste com sua própria
caracterização da modernidade e a caracterização do homo oeconomicus na obra de Michel Foucault.
