A ESPIRITUALIDADE NO PROCESSO DE SAÚDE-DOENÇA EM UMA POPULAÇÃO AMBULATORIAL – UM ESTUDO TRANSVERSAL DESCRITIVO

Abstract

Introduction: Scientific literature has demonstrated that spirituality plays a fundamental role in human life as a whole. Studies on the topic in the health area are increasingly being carried out and documented. Discussions about the relationship between spirituality and the physical and mental health of patients highlight chronic diseases, especially ones with a high degree of mortality, such as cancer, and also palliative care for the sick. Objective: This study aims to analyze factors related to spirituality and health in a population guided to a secondary outpatient care center. Methodology: The research method using closed interviews will be quantitative and transversal. Results: In general, the results obtained in the study are in agreement with previous findings in the literature, highlighting the relevance of the topic, especially about self-rated health. Conclusions: In short, this research successfully adapted the data collection methods, achieving its objectives. It can contribute to health education initiatives aimed at teaching clinical communication skills to deal with patients' spirituality, religiosity, and beliefs.
