Introduction: Fragment reattachment is a conservative treatment for cases of dental fractures, with or without pulp involvement, and should be considered as an alternative to be explored because it brings many benefits by preserving aesthetics and properly restoring occlusal guides. Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of dental fragment reattachment in patients with uncomplicated coronal trauma treated in a Brazilian Specialized Center in Dentoalveolar Trauma (CEMTrau project), from 2008 to 2022. Methodology: A cross-sectional and retrospective survey of patient records was conducted. Chart reviews were conducted at a public university of dentistry graduation in southern Brazil. All records from the analyzed period were counted to obtain the total number of patients treated. An Excel spreadsheet was created to extract the following data from the forms: date of treatment, gender, patient's age at the first consultation, teeth affected by trauma, number of follow-ups, pulp involvement, and storage medium of the fragment. Data collection was performed by a single researcher and the data were analyzed descriptively. Results: A total of 670 records were included, with 1,474 teeth affected by trauma. Thirty-three teeth underwent fragment reattachment, resulting in a prevalence of 2.2% from 2008 to 2022 and an incidence ranging from 0 to 6.6% per year. The most prevalent profile included male patients, 11 years old, the upper central incisors most affected, and saline being the most commonly used storage medium. Approximately 2 follow-ups were performed, and only 4 teeth received pulp protection. Conclusions: A low prevalence of fragment reattachment was observed over the past 15 years. Possible explanations for this result include the absence and impossibility of bonding and patient unfamiliarity with the technique. Awareness campaigns regarding the procedure for dental traumas would be highly valuable in the future.
