Abstract

O presente texto teve como objetivo discutir as secas da região Semiárido Brasileiro nos seus aspectos ambientais, sociais e econômicos com destaque para a última seca ocorrida entre os anos de 2012-2017. O texto é o resultado da apresentação na mesa redonda “As secas e a desertificação no semiárido brasileiro” no I Simpósio de Redução de Riscos dos Desastres na Região Nordeste e II Workshop do Grupo de Pesquisas de Gerenciamento dos Riscos de Desastres – GENAT.
