Abstract

This work presents an explanation about disasters related to natural phenomena, highlighting the studies of new approaches to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) by drought and flood, developed at the Federal University of Paraíba, Technology Center, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Laboratory of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. Some researches carried out in the Postgraduate Program in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the Postgraduate Program in Development and Environment, and also in undergraduate thesis were highlighted.
