Abstract

The monitoring of industrial landfills stands out for their importance in the context of the final disposal of waste, as it allows the operational control of these systems and contributes to the minimization of the environmental impacts caused by these units. Therefore, this research aims to study and practice the use of geotechnologies in conducting expert analyzes in industrial landfills in Uberlândia-MG and it supports decision making through Boolean logic. Careful investigation of these locations is of paramount importance, as it guarantees the minimization of the impacts arising from this undertaking. The methodology of this work aimed at stipulating restriction criteria, following the normative guidelines in force, analyzing landfills that admit industrial waste as to their location through Boolean maps with classification of fit/not fit. The result of the final aptitude map revealed that the industrial landfills in the municipality of Uberlândia are not in a suitable region. Ultimately, geoprocessing techniques were characterized as a practical and reliable tool. Although the established objectives have been achieved, on-site analyzes are extremely important in order to corroborate the present work.
