Abstract

The contribution stems from an in-depth legal analysis of the current developments occuring in the European Union regarding copyright law and the objective of quality and inclusive education. It aims to outline two main takeaways that lusophone countries can treasure from this evolving scenario: the importance of introducing mandatory uniform copyright exceptions and the need to coordinate open licensing practices among countries with different legal systems. The study suggests focusing on the impact of regulation on Open Educational Resources as a key litmus test to assess and improve the effectiveness of rules impacting copyright and education.
