Teaching Case; Teaching and Research in Administration; Project management; Traditional approach; Agile project management.Abstract
This teaching case aims to present the process of developing a project at an institute that promotes project management, located in the city of Fortaleza. The case takes place at the PMI Ceará branch where Francis is the main character. Regarding the projects at this branch, PMDay is the second most important project at the branch where it was developed, a flexible and voluntary environment, which makes the decisions made about the development cycle of a project, the actions taken, the research conducted, debates and discussions during its implementation of great relevance. In producing the case, bibliographical research was used, followed by a semi-structured interview with the manager. The dilemma of the project manager in choosing the appropriate methods and tools for the development cycle is quite current and relevant. Its use and study for learning in the areas of project management and organizational strategy, among others, proves pertinent. At the end, the conclusions about the completion of the process, the results obtained, the internal changes generated and the improvements verified internally by the interested parties are described. The subjects recommended for inclusion in this teaching case are Project Management, Organizational Strategy and Organizational Theory.
