Abstract

In the articulation between History, Literature and Gender Studies, this article proposes a reflection on the trajectory and part of the written work of Emília Dantas Ribas (1907-1978), who acted as teacher, radio speaker and writer between the cities of Ponta Grossa and Curitiba, Paraná. The publication of the novel "A Primavera Voltará" (1949) ("The Spring Will Return"), by its author, made it possible for her to be (re) known in her time as the first novelist of the Campos Gerais region. In light of the historical conditions of her social insertion and of the process of "becoming a writer" around the production of that space, we understand Emilia's fictional writing as a locus for thinking power relations, yearnings, strategies and agencies shared by elite women in Brazil of the 1940s e 1950s.
