Abstract

Between the 60s and 80s in the city Jardim do Seridó/RN, José Modesto de Azevedo (1932-2004), nicknamed Zé Boinho and one of the first photographers that locality, recorded aspects of everyday life, urban landscape, religious sociability, civic celebrations and commemorations. Among his photographs a "series", in particular, draws attention to any of the watch, see or read such images are visual records of madmen, beggars and a gypsy who occasionally visited the city. Our intention with this work is through oral history and their intercross with the source imagery, (re)present the city in which these men were photographed, traces of their lives and their representation in the photographic image, using as a resource analysis oral history and the reading of the image.
