It appropriates the discussions about representation and space to think about ways in which the region is represented on pages of such newspaper. Also it construes similarities and differences between various spaces, including the West, the Northeast of Gilberto Freyre, the Amazon and the Brazilian South of Italian and German immigrants. In addition, relates these representations with the visions of Latin America that circulated in the United States, the situation of war and the actions of the US government approximation with Brazil.
