Aimed to analyze the socio-spatial distribution of urban household heads with the town of Paranaguá (Paraná) in the early nineteenth century. The historiography has suggested that people tended to reside close to their peers. An order 'promoted' for several reasons: the professions, the origins, cultural, kinship, or real estate values. We seek to understand the formation of neighborhoods. A methodology was established to locate the residents, and then analyze their spatial distribution. This study resulted in the realization that there was at least two distinct social groups: the 'poor' and the nobles, and they had, in general, different local city housing. Were spatially distinct spaces, which in some way marked with showy traits the difference between the groups.
