From the analysis of the book Mossoró, região e cidade (1980) of the intellectual Luís da Câmara Cascudo Cascudo is that we stop the emergence of Mossoró-region as a city built from the political investment, economic and cultural power that through public mossoroense discursive elaboration of the West, as a space launch Mossoró that pushes the boundaries to resize as urban region. In this work, we located the book historically Mossoró, região e cidade (1980) to appoint him as part of the discursive production around the western region that is centered in Mossoró. Therefore, we set cascudianos texts, assembled by Vingt-un Rosado, were part of the discursive strategy of the institution of the western region of identity, reshaping the city of Mossoró another plane of spatiality.
