Abstract

This article aims to discuss the issues that permeate the working life outside of work. Through the workers 'newspapers, diaries and official documents (reports of medical health officers, governors' messages to parliament and others) were able to pinpoint the key elements of the universe worker as clothing, transportation, recreation, compensation, expenses for food, housing and health. It was also possible to observe from the issues mentioned, the ratio of workers to the urban area of Manaus.
