This article aims to investigate football as a space of relevant resistance for different Angolan agents in the face of Portuguese colonialism during the 20th century. The word refers to associations and clubs based in the territory of Angola, from the foundation of the first clubs in Angola in 1910 until the country's independence in 1974. As the main theoretical contributions in understanding these spaces under the Portuguese colonial rule, mention is made of the works of Frantz Fanon (1925-1961), “Condemned Earth” (1961) and that of Georges Balandier (1920-2016), “The notion of colonial situation”, in addition to “Sociology of a Revolution” ( 1959), also by Fanon, in order to make a parallel between football and the instrumentalization of French radio by the Algerian colonized.
