This article explores the historical and symbolic formation of the place of devotion to the Anjo da Aurora, located in the village of Currais Novos, in the municipality of Jardim do Seridó, in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. Based on oral narratives, the study investigates how collective memory transforms a tragic event — the death of a child lost in the countryside — into a religious devotion that spans generations, the milagreira Anjo da Aurora. This work is part of the third chapter of the thesis that seeks to understand how places of devotion are formed. To this end, we use the concept of miracle-worker, addressed by Lourival Andrade Júnior (2021), and the concept of place, used by Yi-Fu Tuan (2013).
