This scientific initiation research aims to investigate, through narrative, the social memory of elderly individuals, former residents, and ex-employees living near the train station and along the railway in the city of Assis, São Paulo, focusing on the temporal changes that have taken place in this space. This work is part of the “Railway Memory” Project (UNESP, FAPESP funding), coordinated by Professor Dr. Eduardo Romero de Oliveira. The specific focus of this study is on the event "Days of Memory," organized by the research group, which led to the “Historical Memory of Assis” exhibition. This exhibition sparked reflections on the construction of historical knowledge through a dialogue between academia and communities, fostering a public and democratic history.
