This article is the result an investigation that, through a systemic-functional analysis, employs all the methods and instruments that the approach offers to reveal the ideological political processes of post-impeachment government. Thus, through a systemic-functional analysis, employing all the methods and instruments that the approach offers, such processes can be revealed. To this effect, lexicalgrammatical structures are considered within a framework of a constructed metaphor that not only permeates and dominates the whole article, but also forms the backbone of its argumentative structure. The research examines, in this sense, an editorial published in the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo about the Temer post-impeachment government. The study has the theoretical-methodological framework of Systemic-Functional Linguistics, as well as the Theory of Metaphor. The results show the following metaphors built from the choices throughout the text: The Temer government as a wall, the wall as being fragile, and the wall as something destructible.
