Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to provide the reader with an overview of a new model that is taking a part of the set of constructionist approaches to grammar: Relational Morphology (JACKENDOFF; AUDRING, 2016, 2018, 2010). In this endeavor, we highlight the points of convergence and divergence between Relational Morphology and other similar approaches, such as Constructional Morphology (BOOIJ, 2005; BOOIJ, 2010), showing its formalism and application to morphophonological phenomena in Portuguese, such as, for example, the plurals in ?ãos. As it is an extremely recent approach, still little known in Brazil, we intend to present the model, in addition to arguing for its descriptive power with Portuguese data.
