Home and housing are different concepts, the first refers to the sense of belonging while the second refers to the mere construction. Based on these two concepts, this article proposes an analysis of the identity of the displaced and the various ways of understanding the inhabited space, since: "far beyond the spatio-temporal relationship, the concept itself is inherently linked to the construction of identity" (ALMEIDA, 2016, p .49). Therefore, we will analyze the character of Rui, from The Return (2012), by Dulce Maria Cardoso, and the character of Aquiles, from Luanda, Lisboa, Paraíso (2019), by Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, seeking to understand how they observe, incorporate and understand each other in Lisbon. Both are displaced from Luanda: Rui is a returnee and Aquiles is an immigrant. For this analysis, I will have as theoretical basis Vilém Flusser, Julia Kristeva, Frantz Fanon and others.
