A Marca do Cognitivo e Cognição 4E

Resumo

Neste artigo é defendido que a noção conhecida como “marca do cognitivo” é melhor caracterizada como um processo que realiza a função de gerar comportamento inteligente, de modo flexível e com caráter adaptativo, capaz de se adequar às circunstâncias, por ser um processo sensível a contextos. Para tanto, são examinadas algumas definições de cognição relevantes para o presente propósito. Ao final, aponta-se que a definição da marca do cognitivo como processo sensível a contextos dá conta de diversos fatores que foram acrescentados como partes constitutivas de fenômenos cognitivos ao longo dos anos, em especial a Cognição 4E, que não pode ser satisfatoriamente acomodada a partir das noções precedentes de cognição. Assim, este artigo não deve ser confundido apenas com um exercício de história intelectual, mas como uma breve e acessível tentativa de avançar o debate.
