Abstract

My objective in this review is to present, in general, the different theoretical perspectives that can be found in Brazil in search of democracy, by Newton Bignotto. In this sense, I make a structural presentation of the work at the same time that I try to discuss the author's arguments in its most relevant aspects. In general, the intention is to retain the discussion on the different moments of Brazilian democracy in the light of a republican view.
