Abstract

The article questions: how is the phenomenon of the “disclosedness” (Erschlossenheit) of Being-there to its world implicated in the could-be of being of this entity in the work Being and Time? It begins by contextualizing the notion of Being-in and indicating that Heidegger needs to elucidate the “in” of Being-in-the-world in order to reach the phenomenological foundation that would allow him to understand such an entity. Next, it presents how the phenomenological concept of disclosedness is treated. The work, therefore, seeks to indicate how such openness arises from “affective tonalities” (Stimmungen) and is implicated in a concept contiguous to these, “attunement” (Befindlichkeit). The disclosedness will also be addressed with a view to understanding (Verstehen); at this point, we wish to highlight how this existential disclosedness Being-there to the meaningful horizon that its world constitutes, in addition to indicating how much this comprehensive openness to worldly contexts opens Being-there to its situation as an entity of existential project and possibilities. To achieve these conceptual reconstructions, the article will, at different points, address the contexts outlined in paragraphs 28-32 of Being and Time. The article suggests that between understanding and attunement, Being-there is that which is free to be possibilities in the disclosedness of its world.
