IMPORTÂNCIA DOS CUIDADOS À REDE DE APOIO DE PACIENTES COM ESQUIZOFRENIA: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Introduction: schizophrenia is a chronic disorder, characterized by the disorganization of mental processes. The Brazilian psychiatric reform aimed to dehospitalize patients and emphasize community mental health services. The caregiver then emerges as the agent responsible for the care of these individuals. However, these caregivers ended up being inserted into a psychiatric reform process without due preparation, which has generated an overload. Objective: To identify the actions taken to care for the support network of patients with schizophrenia. Methodology: The study is an integrative review of the literature. The search was carried out in data sources SciELO, MEDLINE through the PubMed interface, LILACS, Elsevier’s SCOPUS and CINAHL. Results: Most studies brought care to the support network of schizophrenic patients social support, family psychoeducation, welcoming actions, listening, clarifications about the disease and educational intervention programs. Conclusions: Actions directed at the support network of patients with schizophrenia can positively impact the health and quality of life of these caregivers.
