Abstract

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Carious and non-carious white lesions, such as enamel hypoplasia and fluorosis, pose esthetic and functional challenges to patients. In face of this, resin infiltration emerges as a minimally invasive solution, effective both in halting the progression of caries and in masking white lesions. Objective: This study aimed to utilize resin infiltration treatment in clinical cases of non-carious white lesions. Methodology: This article reports four clinical cases of patients with non-carious white lesions treated with resin infiltrant (3 cases of hypoplasia and 1 case of fluorosis). The protocol included the application of 15% hydrochloric acid (Icon-Etch), ethanol (Icon-Dry), and fluid resin (Icon-Infiltrant), following the manufacturer's instructions (DMG), with photographic post-treatment follow-up period of fourteen days to seven months. Results: In all cases, significant esthetic improvement was observed, particularly in the masking of deeper hypoplastic stains and in the disappearance of fluorosis stains, in addition to high patient satisfaction. Conclusions: It is concluded that the technique is effective in camouflaging non-carious white lesions, offering a conservative alternative to conventional restorative methods.
