Abstract

The journal Porto Arte, a journal published by the Graduate Program in Visual Arts at UFRGS, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, began to circulate in 1990 and since then it has had successes and overcome problems, always disseminating academic research in visual poetics and in history, theory and art criticism. It is currently in its fourth phase, seeking to improve its editorial routines and maintain the quality of its presence.

Paulo Silveira, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul

Paulo Antonio de Menezes Pereira da Silveira is professor of Art History at the UFRGS Institute of Arts, working at undergraduate and graduate levels, member of the Brazilian Committee on Art History (CBHA) and of the National Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts ( ANPAP, History, Theory and Art Criticism Committee) and CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship recipient.
