The parameters of time and space delimit art research’s object. Time immediately directs research into history, both of the object itself, as the knowledge on it, accumulated. Space inserts itself in the symbolic correlations and therefore in the cultural and social ones. Thus, the object of research and knowing and/or producing subject get close, since the result of the (artistic and research) work is directly inscribed within the symbolic practices. The experience, practice and empirical knowledge of the researcher, then appear as differentiators for arts research. As an illustration, the tale La Busca de Averroes, by Jorge Luis Borges.
Keywords: scientific research and arts research; knowledge on arts; experience in arts research.
