The correct functioning of the relationship between users and university libraries depends on the proper circulation of the collection belonging to them. Delays in returning borrowed materials, then, are characterized as an obstacle to maintaining a harmonious relationship between these agents. The aim of this study was therefore to quantify the records of loans and delays in returning SISBI material. To do this, we used some descriptive numerical measures, which are covered in Chapter 3 of the Probability and Statistics course taught at the School of Science and Technology. The Python programming language was used to build graphical representations of the behavior of the data obtained through UFRN's open data page. Based on the results, it was possible to see significant delays when studying the SISBI link categories. This revealed the need to develop more effective methods for the following groups: technical-administrative staff, undergraduate students and teachers. In addition, a well-defined pattern of behavior was identified when observing the variation in loans and arrears in relation to the monthly variation.
