This article deals with the informational behavior in developing professional skills in the scope of Librarianship, using a case study in the mandatory supervised practicum at the Zila Mamede Central Library (BCZM), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The general objective of this article is to analyze the influence of Informational Behavior on the development of professional skills of students who are part of the mandatory supervised practicum at BCZM. To achieve this purpose, bibliographic research on professional skills, informational behavior, and mandatory supervised practicum in the area of Librarianship were carried out. It was also carried out the analysis of documentation related to students who are part of the mandatory supervised practicum at BCZM in 2019.2, as well as the application of the model of Carol Kuhlthau (1991) to discuss the informational behavior of students in the mandatory supervised practicum in order to obtain the achievement of the general objective of this research.Through the analyses of the documentation, it was possible to perceive that there was a development in both technical and professional skills of the students, as there were changes in the way of viewing the library, its processes, and its behavior in the face of unexpected situations, and in the articulation of activities within the most varied contexts in which the students might be inserted.It is concluded that a factor that contributed a lot to the results achieved was the fact that the Zila Mamede Central Library, which added a lot and provided the bridge between the theory and practice of the students, which makes it a broad field for supplying the filling of informational gaps, essential in this stage experienced by them.
