This article aims to reflect, from the analysis of declassified US documents, the role of the German community led by Paul Schäfer in Chile, Colonia Dignidad, as a place of prison, torture and murder used by the main Chilean repressive body, the Directorate of National Intelligence (DINA). Established the dictatorship in Chile in 1973, Augusto Pinochet ordered the creation of a powerful intelligence and intelligence structure with the possibility of eliminating opponents of the regime. Thus, under the precepts of State Terrorism, DINA began to operate, establishing clandestine places of detention across the country. In this sense, Dignidad not only as a local, but also as one of the most prominent contributors to human rights violations of the period.
