Abstract
This article aims to reflect on the importance of local history for the teaching of history in Mozambique. In this context, local history is one that allows us to investigate a region or places where students are located. And nowadays it is seen as an indispensable tool in the teaching and learning process. It is in this context that, in the first moment of this article, I present the perception of local history. In a second moment, the importance of valuing local history for the teaching of history is analyzed. And finally, the strategies for inserting local history in teaching in Mozambique are presented. In this sense, to carry out this article, a bibliographic analysis was taken into account, seeking to understand the topic from the materials and documents existing in Archives, focusing mainly on the documentation that gave more impetus and clarity to the research.
