Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the Sociology of Novel, based on the studies of the hungarian thinker György Lukács (1885-1971). Thus we start from his classic youth study of romance, The Theory of Romance, until he comes to his marxist writings on the novel form. In this sense, this text aims to discuss the relationship between the aesthetic, internal or formal elements of the novel, and, on the other hand, the extra-aesthetic or social elements, and how this synthesis is the work of art. Thus, the novel becomes a privileged object for sociology, in the sense that it opens possibilities for us to understand the social reality itself that is mediated by the novelist's created subjectivity.
