The present work seeks to contribute to the realization of a reflection on what is understood as valid knowledge in modernity, as well as on the relationship between modernity, coloniality and the role played by philosophy and human rights in covering up colonial violence. Based on this diagnosis, he defends the need and the possibility of consolidating the decolonial project of a Southern philosophy, which makes it possible to carry out a symmetrical dialogue between the South and the global North. In the same sense, it presents the proposal of an epistemic disobedience posture as the tool capable of contributing to the broader understanding of what knowledge is.
