Rodrigo Nunes' book, From Trance to Vertigo: Essays on Bolsonarism and a World in Transition, published by Ubu Editora in 2022, inserts itself as a bibliographic event contemporary to the phenomenon it deals with. The work presents an important contribution regarding what can be learned philosophically about the entity that is conventionally called bolsonarism from a perspective that is both synchronic and diachronic. The work is an outline of a political ontology of bolsonarism, presenting the concretization of this movement from the very exteriority of relationships of which it is a precarious result. Furthermore, the work also proposes to rethink the way of understanding the significance of important political events of the last decade, such as June 2013, developing a nuanced conception of political realism.
