ABRACE: 20 years – Celebrating Diversity

Abstract

This article draws a historical account of ABRACE - Performing Arts Research and Postgraduate Studies Brazilian Association - that in 2018 completed 20 years of existence. Recalling ABRACE's trajectory in its nostalgic, political, ethical and aesthetic aspects was the tone of this commemorative table that shared through the memory alien to the trajectory of this Association. Certainly those facts were lost, others were forgotten, people disappeared, and what was interesting to remember was selected. In addition to these memoirs, it gives a brief account of what the Association has accomplished besides the scientific meetings and congresses, as well as raises the question of how ABRACE has discussed the teaching issue and the strengthening of the teaching of Art, especially of the Performing Arts in the country.
