Abstract

The Associação Nacional de Pesquisadores em Artes Plásticas (National Association of Visual Arts Researchers), ANPAP, created in 1987, is a non-profit organization that brings together researchers and visual arts institutions from all over Brazil. This article was published in a research of the Comitê de Educação em Artes Visuais (Visual Arts Education Commitee, in Brazil), CEAV. It used a qualitative research with documentary and bibliographic review, as well as data from memories of some dossiers associated with the history of CEAV from ANPAP. The results shown have not been published in CEAV for decades and are representative and referenced for research on visual arts teaching in Brazil.

Robson Xavier da Costa, Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB)

Visual Artist, Art/Educator and Curator. Post Doctor in Aesthetics and Art History (MAC USP) with mobility scholarship from the Fundación Carolina - Spain - at the Universidad de Granada; PhD in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU UFRN), with Erasmus Mundus mobility scholarship at the University of Minho - Portugal; Master in History (PPGH UFPB); Special Education Specialist (UFPB); Degree in Arts Education - Fine Arts (UFPB). Lecturer / researcher at the Department of Visual Arts and the Associate Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts (PPGAV UFPB / UFPE - current Coordinator) at the Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Federal University of Paraíba) - UFPB. Leader of the Research Group on Art, Museums and Inclusion (GPAMI/UFPB/CNPq). Member of ANPAP, FAEB and ABCA.
