Author Biographies

Alba Pedreira Vieira, Universidade Federal de Viçosa, UFV

Alba Pedreira Vieira is artistic director and performer of the Mosaico Contemporary Dance Company, and Dance researcher and associate professor at the  Dance Undergraduate Program, Arts and Humanities Department, Federal University of Vicosa, Brazil.  Researcher at the Graduate Program of Performing  at Federal University of Ouro Preto, Brazil. She holds a Ph.D. on Dance (Temple University, USA) and has presented and published her scholarly papers in multiple journals nationally and internationally.   She also has published book chapters in a number of countries and is the editor of two books: Education for the Arts (2010), and Art and Violence: Essays in Movement  (2017). She is Editorial Board member of the Art Research Journal, and the coordinator of the National Forum of Performing Arts Journals Editors. Her artistic works (dance showings, screendances, solos, performances, choreographies) have been presented in several events in Brazil and abroad, and she has been received awards for some of them.

Vera Lucia Didonet Thomaz, Associação Nacional de Pesquisadores em Artes Plásticas, ANPAP

Vera Lucia Didonet Thomaz (artist and independent researcher) is the editor of ARJ for the area of visual arts and related themes; she represents ANPAP, Associação Nacional de Pesquisadores em Artes Plásticas (National Association of Visual Arts Researchers).

Guilherme Sauerbronn, Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, UDESC

Pianist Guilherme Sauerbronn is Associate Professor at the Santa Catarina State University UDESC. His doctoral dissertation, Mahle, Steiner and Goethe: A Study on the Concept of Harmony was published as a book in 2015. He has published articles and book chapters with themes related mainly to musical analysis, Schenker, performance and aesthetics. In 2017, he released, along with cellist Hugo Pilger, the CD A Integral para Violoncelo e Piano de Ernst Mahle, awarded with the Prêmio Açorianos 2019 in three categories: best classical CD; best composer (Ernst Mahle); best interpreter (Hugo Pilger). He is currently Editor-in-Chief of ORFEU journal (PPGMUS/UDESC), member of the editorial board of Debates journal (PPGM/UNIRIO) and of the Art Research Journal (ANPPOM-AMPAP-ABRACE), and member of the directive board of the Brazilian Association of Music Theory and Analysis (TeMA).

Marcilio Vieira, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, UFRN

Marcilio de Souza Vieira (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, UFRN) is editor of ARJ for the area of dance and related themes; he represents ANDA, Associação Nacional de Pesquisadores em Dança (Dance Researchers Nacional Association).
