The text presents a transcription of an interview conducted by the artist-performer Sarah Marques Duarte with professor-performer Ricardo Barreto Biriba as part of the research Limits and tensions in the teaching of performance in Brazilian public universities. The investigation aims to reflect on the singularities in the teaching of performance in the trajectory of artist-researchers in contemporary times. The study stems from the desire to contribute to teaching practices in the field of performance by compiling pedagogical proposals focused on the professionalization of individuals in the field. Professor-performers reflect on the field, its complexities, contradictions, and potentials. It is evident in the interview that teaching performance at the university requires a double movement from the teacher: adherence and resistance. On the one hand, dialoguing with the institution's norms and, on the other, creating gaps for its transformation.
