This paper reflects on the work of Personne, a group of artists interested in producing artworks that involve the repertoire of contemporary music and sound art in its relationship with other art forms. The group was born out of a project to transcribe the Symphonie pour un homme seul [Symphony for One Man Alone], a quintessential example of an instrumental version of musique concrète. In this project and in subsequent works, creation transpires through experimentation by means of exploring the practices of each one of its members without attempting or desiring to formalize them. Thus, this paper presents the reflections and questions of five member of the Personne group, which, based on their own work, result in projecting their critical views in relation to music and sound art in general.
