Abstract

This essay seeks to highlight a critical reflection on the important role that bibliography plays in teaching and student practice in postgraduate programs, in the context of bibliographic representation. To this end, it presents as its main theoretical reference, a brief thought by sociologist Erving Goffman (2009), about the behavior of the human being facing life as a theatrical representation, with simulations of real and sometimes well rehearsed things. In his logic, both the man on the theater stage and the people in the audience are characters in which each individual seeks to regulate the impression he gives to others while performing. Starting from the same reasoning, it is often understood that the bibliographies presented in a teaching plan or academic works are formed by some bibliographic references not necessarily used by teachers or students, but which are there as in this phenomenon of theatrical representation in teaching. and in research.
